After Lunch Activities is called ALA for short.
This is one of the unique Grade School Program format that Preppi School promotes. While most students in other schools are left to their own devices to do their own thing, be it productive or mischievous, as the faculty members thaw out in a “for Adults’ Only Zone”, free from kids during the whole break, the Preppi Pal, our version of what a teacher is, engages the child to indulge in creative explorations, activities and purposeful play.
After the standard hygienic practices of brushing teeth and grooming are done after eating, the child cleans up his/her lunch mess and immediate environs. Then, based on the Menu of Choices presented in the first part of the day, the child embarks on his/her creative or academic pursuits to his/her liking. This is one of the most well -liked program of the Preppi child probably because they are given more adult attention and assistance to do activities they want to learn and master. From simple games to exotic experiments, the selections are endless. ALA activities are carefully selected and prepared by the teachers that are developmentally appropriate. The children also suggest their activity ideas which the teacher also prepares for them. ALA brings in the FUN in the Functional and FUN in the fun-to-see lessons that leave a lasting impact in the life of the child.
A sample ALA is playing water balloons. The children learn confidence on how to throw, practice mathematical probability and predict on the bounce and burst of the balloon, learn sportsmanship and encourage each others’ efforts, observe physics as they study force and IMPACT, apply personal principles on living a life with impact as they throw and release the balloons. Multi-learning while having multi-fun. ALA!
ALA keeps the children positive, productive and peaked with tons of interest to learn new things. ALA keeps them from troubles.
